Dr. (Miss) Marshall has been appointed assistant superintendent. The Hon. A. D. McLeod. Alinister of Agriculture, accompanied by r his private secretary. Air. 'Mulligan, arrived at Wanganui from Wellington last night. He will attend the Jockey Club’s meeting to-day and leave for Hawera this evening, being expected here about 9.30 o’clock. To-morrow forenoon- the Alinister will attend to various departmental affairs, • and the Mayor's' room has been placed at his disposal for any business of a public nature.
