DROWNING FATALITY.
FATHER. AND SON DEAD. MOTHER’S TR AGIC DISCOVERS . (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRIS rCHl’RC'll, Feb. 17. A double drowning tragedy took place in the estuary at Sumner to-day, the victims being Cla.renee George Hubert, aged 27, a. taxi-driver, who resided at 2 Rain lord Street, Wools ton. and Ibis sou, 'Stanley Hubert, aged five. At 9 a.m. the lather and son leu, hoiitei for Keilcliffs, where they entered a dinghy owned by Hubert’s brother, anil proceeded out into the estuary to fish. What eventually happened ,T J not known, but it is surmised that when hauling up the anchor preparatory to ret tuning home, the craft capsized.
Shortly before <2 p.m. tiie body of the boy was found floating in. shallow water near the Cave Rock at Sumner. It was recovered immediately and efforts were made to restore animation. Cut without success.
