That the Russo-japan.ese-Ohine.se treaty was signed at Peking in January i.s the assertion of the Lokal Anzeiger, which publishes front a very reliable Russian source details of .the alleged secret clauses thereof (one provides, that should Britain, France or America take military measures against the Peking Government- or against Chinese un neutralised territory, Russia, will place two hundred thousand men. at the disposal of China, whom Japan will arm. The Chinese army, on peace strength, is to he 800,000, and is to have Russo•Jaoanese instructors. China undertakes to buy weapons and war material onlv from Russia and Japan. The duration of the treaty is stated to he 30 years.
The Japanese Emhassv at Berlin has issued an emphatic denial of the Lokal Anzeiger’s report. —Reuter.
