PACIFIC CRUISE. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPVRIGHT WASHINGTON, Eeb. 12. Commander Halsey Powell, of the Navy Intelligence Department, states that the following is the, tentative list of the senior officer personnel commanding tli*various units of the fleet participating in tlie proposed tour of Australia and New Zealand:— Coinmander-in-Chief of the United States Fleet, Admiral Coontz, on board tlie flagship Seattle, which will be commanded by Captain W. R. Sayles. Cominander-in-Chief of tlie Battle Fleet, Admiral Robinson, on board the flagship California, which will be commanded by Captain R. O. Hasbrouck. Commander of tlie Battleship Divisions, Vice-Admiral 11. A. Willey, on board the flagship West Virginia, which will be commanded by Captaiu T. ,T. Scan. Commander of Battleship Division 3, Rear-Admiral H. J. Ziegemeier, on board the flagship Pennsylvania, which will be commanded by Captain H. Laning. Commander of Battleship Division 4, Rear-Admiral W. F. Pratt, on board the flagship New Mexico, which will be commanded by Captain F. H. Brunbv. Commander of the destroyer squadsons of the Battle Fleet, Rear-Admiral Frank 11. Schofield, on hoard the flagship Omaha, which will be commanded by Captain F. J. Horne. The list of port assignments will include the visit of one division of battleships to Melbourne and Wellington. Commander Powell, who will also participate in the Australian visit, was an officer in the 1908 fleet, when he ■was navigator on board the Yankton, which was the advance vessel, making preparation for the fleet’s arrival and departure at various ports. Commander Powell on that occasion did valuable work, making soundings off the Australian coast, which were useful ; for the merchant marine. He points out that the technique for making soundings has been much improved since then. The destroyers Corrv and Hull, which it is hoped will make the forthcoming cruise, are equipped with a sonic device, which measures the water’s depth automatcally. i
