IMPORTANT FINANCE MATTERS. NAVAL KSTJMATF.S. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Feb. 11, 11.30 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 10. Parliament reassembled without ceremonial. The main business of the House of Commons to-day will the second reading of the Church of Scotland Bill, dealing with the union of the two great Presbyterian bodies, after which the House will he chiefly occupied till the end of March with finance. There are first of all the Supplementary Estimates of £7,500,000, then the main Estimates of between £25,000,000 and £26,000,000. Some time will be spent on the Navy estimates, owing to the belief that Air. Winston Churchill will not agree to give the Admiralty the full number of ships for which' they are asking.—Reuter.
BEAM WIRELESS: STATIONS. LONDON, Feb. 10. In the House of Commons Sir W. Mitchell Thomson, Postmaster-General, said that sites for the Canadian and South African beam wireless stations had been selected, near Bodmin and Bridgewater. The terms of purchase had been agreed to, and he hoped'the sites would be placed at the disposal of the contractors before February 28. SA FEGUARDING INDUSTRIES, Replying to Mr. Ramsay MacDonald and to Mr. Lloyd George, the Premier (Mr. S. Baldwin) promised to give an opportunity before Easter to the House to discuss the Government’s policy in regard to safeguarding of industries. He said he would welcome a discussion, in order to allay misconceptions which had apparently arisen.— Reuter
