FARTHER MATCHES
Play went along merrily all day, and the drawings were got off in good style and with the utmost expedition. In the play for the semi-finalists Mrs R. Wylie, after a great struggle, beat Mr Clague, who conceded her four bisques. It was* a capital .match to watch. Many of the other matches provided excellent play, and were watched with keen interest. The committee arranged to play the finals of the handicaps and most of the leading championship matches to-mor-row on the Hawera lawns. It is expected there will he a large gallery to see the leading players of the provinces in action. There is certain to he the keenest rivalry. The beauty of the surroundings at the Park is the subject of much very enthusiastic comment by visitors from other parts. All who had not previously seen the Park gardens and lawns are loud in their praises. champion norm, res. The first of the champion-hip game,' 'was played to-day.
