CONJUGAL POSITION.
IN AUSTRALIAN STATES. iY CABLE—CRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT (Received Feb. 7, 9.55 a.m.) - x SYDNEY, Feb. 7. The report of the Comonwealth Statistician on the conjugal position of the people of Australia, shows that the excess of marriageable women is greatest in Tasmania, where it is 37.8 per cent., and is least in Queensland, where it is 5.1 per cent. In West Australia it is 9.6 per cent., New South Wales 18.7 pe r cent. South Australia 29.4 iir cent, Victorian 34.69 per cent. The preponderance of marriageable females is greater in the metropolitan areas than in the states, as a whole ranging from 41.3 per cent at Sydney to 75.8 per cent at Perth. The average for the six capital cities is 52.8 per cent.
