SHRINE OF MOON GOD. Excavations by the British Museum’s expedition of Ur of the Chaldees, in Mesopotamia, the birthplace of Abraham, have revealed the walls of a great tower 4200 years old. believed to be the shrine of the moon god at which Abraham worshipped. It is a sloping wall of mud and brick, with shallow, buttresses which had subsequently been strengthened by a facing of burnt brick w'hicli has enabled it ito last for ages. A small building adjoining the tower lias been identified as a court of justice. The kitchen therein contained a

broken ivory casket with a carved row of .dancing girls holding hands encircling the casket.
