FRUIT CONTROL.
ELECTION OF BOARD. (by telegraph —press association.! WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. The poll for the election of two Nel-son-Marlborougli district representatives on the New Zealand Fruit Control Board resulted to-day as follows: T. C. Brash, 110; 11. E. Stephens, 98; Patrick Callaghan, 44; Joseph Stewart, 33, Messrs Brash and Stephens were, therefore, declared elected. The voters on the roll totalled 233, and 140 voting papers were returned, the number of non-voters thus being 93. Messrs G. Izard (Auckland-Taranaki district) and A. M. Robertson (Hawke’s Bay-Wellington area) were elected unopposed. The two Government representatives have yet to be appointed.
