BUTTER MARKET. BY CABLE—PEES.*, ASSOCIA TIOV—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Jan. 22. Butter is lower. The wholesale and retail prices stimulate the demand, but business is hgnipered by the slow discharge from steamers. If all the arrivals were promptly available the present prices could not be maintained. New Zealand choicest salted is quoted at 156 s to 158 s; while exceptionally good lots realised 160 s. Australian is quoted at 14Gs to 150 s. Unsalted is scarce at a premium of 6s to Bs. Danish is firm at 200 s. CHARGES ON MEAT REDUCED. WELLINGTON, Jan. 22.
The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has been advised by its London office tiiat the Port of London Authority has from February 1 reduced the quay rate on frozen meat to 9s 3d per ton. A reduction is also made in storage for the first month, which will be 37s per ton. The storage rates for subsequent months will remain as at present. LONDON, Jan. 22. The Port of London Authority announces a reduction on all dock charges of 74 per cent., commencing in February. It is understood all the cold stores in London will make a similar reduction. *
