PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr. Lloyd George celebrated liis 62nd birthday yesterday. Mr. J. B. Harwood, of Kaponga, who has sold his business to Mr. fe. C. Knight, at present of Hamilton, anticipates leaving for Wellington during the first week in February. On making inquiries as to the health of the Premier, a Wellington Times representative was informed yesterday that Mr. Massey is progressing satisfactorily toward recovery.—Press Adjutant and Mrs. J. Hawkins, who have been in charge of the Eltham Salvation Army operations, have rereceived a transfer to South Dunedin. They left by this morsing’s mail train. Their places in Eltham will be taken by Commandant and Mrs. Glanville, from Thames. Mr. J. N. Hutton, Patea’s first postmaster, is on a visit to his brother-in-law (Mr. M. J. Campbell). Mr. Hutton is accompanied by his wife. They both have vivid recollections of Pa tea in the days of Cobh and Co.’s ocaches and when the military element was largely in evidence.
