MOTOR ACCIDENT

NARROW ESCAPE AT PUKENGAHU. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) ELTHAM, Jan. 7. A miraculous escape from injury was the luck of A. R. Gower, a lorry proprietor, and Abates, of Eltham, yesterday afternoon, when Gower’s lorry went over a steep bank at a dangerous corner near Pukengahu. The steering gear locked, and the lorry went- over the bank, through a hedge and a wire fence and ended its career in a hog, after travelling over a chain. Neither of the occupants jumped out, but luckily the lorry travelled on an even angle and did* not - capsize. There were no injuries to the occupants, and very little damage to the lorry.
