The steamer Canadian Constructor, which has arrived from Montreal, had the novel experience of missing New Year’s Day, having been on the 180th meridian ori January lsf last. The entry in the log for 1924 was on’ December 31st, and the first entry for this year i s headed January 2. The Canadian Constructor left Panama six hours after the' departure of the Hain liner Treleven, ‘which is not yet reported. In a ' previous voyage the Canadian Constructor won a similar ocean race by d few hours.
