PREMIER'S! MESSAGE.
DOMINION PROSPEROUS.
CAUTION STILL NECESSARY., »■ ■ \.. - .-V. ■' ’ : f BY TELEGUAPn—-FIIESS ASSOCIATION. >, ■*. : WELLINGTON, Dec. 24. The Prime Minister has issued - the following New • Year,, message to' the ' people of the Dominion: “For. tlie New Year New Zealand’s prospects are : decidedly encouraging. The high prices obtained for our , wool in the : recent sales must have brought considerable gratification, not only to growers, but to the • people in general of tlie;; Do-' minion. CCupled with these fine sales °f our wool is a very healthy .tone.Mn tlie markets for' almost all of our Other jiriniary products. There is.' ju stifle a- ;; tion, therefore, for our looking forward •;■■. with renewed' confidence to a- prosperous year. The people of the Dominion, particularly the farming . community, have had trying i periods, but. they faced them stoically, ‘and how -they have the satisfaction of feeling; the. bright turn of ; events, and in ' anticipa-' tion of expectations being realised’, there is no-need for me to counsel-can l ; tion. Bitter experience of the -past will be remembered-, and the profits from the present high prices which are being enjoyed’for our products wili be used in bringing back that stability which it has always; been this, country’s object to maintain. In a. produc- • ing country like New Zealand the-pros-perity of pordneers reflects: on the ivh ole community; and during Christmas this year and the new year 0f:1925 people should be signally happy * and contented.” ‘ • •
