A well-known farmer, Robert Shelton, of Kaharoa, wag brought to the King George V. Hospital by ambulance last night suffering from serious spinal injuries by being dragged by a horse. An operation was this afternoon, and the results are reported to he satisfactory. FISHERIES’ EXPERT APPOINTED. WELLINGTON, Dec. 24. The appointment is announced of Mr A. E. Hefford, M.Sc. (Wales) to the position of fisheries’ expert to the New Zealand Government, at a salary of £750 per annum.
