Arrangements had been made to use Mr Geary's paddock, where there is an ideal spot consisting of part orchard ancl ,part native bush, with level grass lands adjoining, but as the weather seemed unsettled, it:was hast, ily decided to stay near ,a ; [ building, and, the; school grounds were-therefore utilised. A most enjoyable time was spent in racing and playing games, the; running bringing to light some budding •“Dixon Baniierites.’’; -The committee spared no. paiiis, and their efforts were appreciated by all; •/ , The chairman, Mr G. W. Williams, before presenting 'the, prizes, gave a brief summary, of .the year’s doings at the school, and congratulated ■ teacher •nh pupils on the progress made' and the good reports of the school;’"• The three boys presented .for. proficiency had gained certificates; and the. remaining pupils had all passed in their respective standardly sUnfe ; of them ;_with a - great deal of .credit: Mr Williams 'also said; that the picnic would be continued at the beach on Boxing. Day, Mr L.
