The weather was very bad, but this did not affect the attendance at all, and the hall was filled to the doors. Owing to the examination -being' late this: year- little time, was left in which to work up the programme, but the teachers had worked marvels in the short period at their disposal, and the result was a distinct crecliji to them' and 5 a: tribute to the im tetligence'of their pupils. .Mr A. The weather for some time has been very changeable, , and most trying to the farmers who are endeavouring to get their hay; in. Quit© a number have had their hay lying out for a fortnight, and as a' consequence it will deteriorate considerably in quality. In this eoniiectipn. it - would be* of great advantage to the fanners if the Star cpuld -get the daily weather .report through in-.time for inclusion in the edition. These reports, are almost invariably correct; but as they are a day. jiehind in reaching us their value is considerably discounted.
