JUNIOR CRICKET

Excelsior B journeyed to Stratford on Saturday, and won on the first innings by eight runs. An outright win was defeated by time, with the last two Stratford men at the wickets. The scores were: Excelsior, 41 (McCarthy 10) and 97 for seven wickets, declared (Smailes 19, Davies 15, Soundy 23 not out, AValkley 9). Stratford, 33 and 70 for eight wickets (Cottier 11, Trotter 16, Aoung 26 not out). Bowling for Excelsior, Walkley five wickets for 5 runs and two for 8, Mackenzie two for 16 and three for 31, Muir three for 4 and 2 for 24- while for Stratford, Beere got seven for 22 and one for 15, Cottier three for 17 and two for 43, Thomas three for 12 and Griffin one for 14.
