HAWERA EN FETE.
GAILY DECORATED STREETS.
PREPARATIONS FOR CHRISTMAS
i Hawera was to-day arrayed in her Christmas robes, a host of willing workers having worked hard yesterday under adverse, weather conditions to provide and arrange the greenery and the other items on the programme of decorations. The effect of the labour is magical. High Street has become a veritable fairy land, which will , provide a fitting setting for the activities of Father Christmas, who is to arrive in a motor lorry at 2.30 p.m. to-day. In this connection the children are in for a real treat, as it is rumoured that Father Christmas has a liberal supply of sweet things which he will distribute 'free to the young people. To-morrow night will be the night: Music will he provided, and old arid young will throng the streets, where the real festive spirit will be abroad.
