RELIEF FOR RUSSIA.
1 PAPAL ANNOUNCEMENT. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT ROME, Dee. 19. The Pope, in the course of an address at a secret Consistory, spoke as follows: “The fact that we are opening relief institutions, in Russia does not imply that we are supporting the Government, of which we far from approve. It is our duty to ward off the grave dangers of Socialism and Communism, in the interests of peace, public welfare, family sanctity, and-respect for human dignity.
