LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

ST CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Dec. 19. The Daily News says that the Rugby League’s refusal to invite Australasia next year may cause' some surprise. The League does' not want to make tours cheap. It is officially stated that there is no'desire to have another 'tour yet, although Australia will not like it. The New Zealanders, having beaten us in test matches last summer, have earned the right to preferential treatment. They have only once visited us, whereas three Australian teams have visited England. The council wisely ignored the cry against the New Zealanders that they required a subsidy, whereas the Australians were prepared to come at their own risk.
