RUNS INTO A SLIP

(by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION,) WELLINGTON, Dec. 20. At 5.30 a.m. to-day a goods train from Paekakariki ran into a slip near Ngaio’ and th©’ AA’hole train Avas derailed. All trains from the north detrained passengers at Johmsonville, whence they came by motor-buses. The mail trains for NeAv Plymouth and Napier- Avere despatched at 9.20 a. m. via Wairairapa. Both Auckland expresses, 12.45 and 2 Avere cancelled, but the line is expected to be clear to-morroAv and traffic will resume. A A r ery heavy slip on the Hutt Road caused a traffic block.

A very brief storm did considerable aggregate damage at Eastbourne, Bona Bay, and other parts of the east harbour district.
