SUPREME COURT.
PRISONERS SENTENCED. (by TEI.EGB.APH PHESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 19. At the Supreme, Court sentences were passed as follows: Williafci Alexander Dickie Duncan, for theft at Wanganui, 18 months’ hard labour. Sydney Charles Leekie, breaking, entering and theft, two years’ reformative treatment. Allan Cameron MePhee and George Edward Charlton, indecent assault on a male. Charlton, who was said to be mentally weak, had a fit in the dock; he was sentenced to three years’ detention. Sir Robert Stout said he would recommend the prisoner for examination with a view to 'his detention in an asylum. The trouble was that there was no suitable institution for such cases. MePhee was given three years’ reformative treatment.
