ON HAWKER AND TOBACCONIST. (BY TELVGRAPTT —PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 17. At the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon Joseph Nohra, an Assyrian hawker, was fined £25 for loitering in Cathedral Square for the purposes of betting, and £lO on each of two charges of having made bet-s at totalisator odds. It was alleged that the defendant was acting as agent .for a bookmaker.

William Henry Pullen was fined £IOO for using his tobacconist’s shop as a common gaming house;
