Last, evening the hoarders at the Hawera Technical High School were the guests of Mr A. M. Conroy at the pictures. The kindness of Mr Conroy was much appreciated by the boys, as is also liis offer of one free night a month for the boarders for next year. Mr Conroy also assisted in adding to the pleasure of the Feilding team’s visit "by entertaining both teams at the pictures on the evening of the match. So far the Stare has spent about ■£700,000 on afforestation. The total area of State plantations is 44,646 acres, of which 30,023 acres are in the Rotorua district. Since 1808 the nursery at Rotorua has raised 82.064,927 trees for State plantations and distribution .
