OF NATIVE BANKRUPT. CAUSES ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING. ‘ Hinga. Haepiatn, an aboriginal native of Ohangai, was adjudged a bankrupt on the. 10th of tins month, but with the characetristic laxity of the native, he did nob bother himself further with, the matter after-lie had paid his filing fees. Consequently at 2 p.m to-day, the appointed hour for the meeting of creditors, the Dephty Official Assignee could do nothing more than adjourn the meeting in the absence of any information regarding bankrupt’s position, and apparently, if the particulars are not forthcoming, the D:0:A. will have no recourse but to institute • proceedings iagninst the native. 1 All that is available so far is a rough list of unsecured' creditors’ claims toilairing £7l ,9s lcl, but it is not ■known whether this constitutes the whole- of the claims against the bankrupt.. The list is as follows: —I*. O’Dea, £23 3s 7d:_Dr. Thomson. £2 2s; F. N. Gardner, £7 18s 3d; Curtis and Spragg, £22; H. Fov, £6 TOs; Houston, £2 0s 3d 1 ; Hu-rrell Bros., £7 15s. The only other information available is a verbal statement made by Hinga when he paid his filing fees’ to the effect that he had no assets.
