ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE, TO-NIGHT. “MORD EM’LY.” The final screening of “Mord Eni’ly” will take place to-nignt at the Opera House. “Mord Envly" is a British. Master Picture, starring Britain's queen of happiness, • Betty Balfour. There is not tne slightest doubt that this talented little artist has endeared herself to Hawera picture-goers, and .iiiy' picture 01 ner’s is assured of a nearty welcome-. As the title implies, this is a story of Cockney life 111 ail j its phases, and as usual Betty manages J do get a roar of laughter with her really clever antics. “rVLord Em’jy’’ is a clean, healthy comedy, and the producer is to. be commended on liis-por-trayal of a very definite and typical pnase of English life. ,_The } Mack Sennett comedy -‘Where is My Wandering x>oy This Evening" is excellent. NELLIE BRAMLEYS RETURN. “IT PAYS TO- ADVERTISE." That brilliant American comedy, “It Pays to Advertise,” will be put on by the Nellie Bramley.,Company at the Opera House to-morrow evening. The story is built on the merits of advertising on a grand scale, and is a kind of humorous testimony to the .susceptibility of the public to this form of business persuasion. Comedy is the keynote of the play, and tile keynote of the comedy is Carl Lawson, who plays the part of Ambrose. Peale. the enthusiast. His work alone would be sufficient to impart merit to

any comedy. Of " "enuine merit, too,' is tlio work of Aliss Nellie ram ley,' who takes tlie part ol Alary Ur ay son, the brainy, secretary. , The ease and naturalness ol her acting make it ; never :ess than delightful. l'he other ! roles are all well placed in the- hands of a. very; capable set' of artists'. "Paid in Full” will be staged on Thursday, and will show Miss Bramiey ,nul her colleagues at their best in a : strong drama, based on ai loving woman’s sacrifice. The play itself is lull of surprises, and its intensity calls on the emotional qualities of every performer. '‘All through,” said one i eviewer, “Miss Bramley’s finished acting was a delight, and there I was something very appealing in her ' impersonation of the loving woman. ! who finds out the pi table weakness of her husband, and yetpgees.to the-bluff cr.rtain’s bachelor .apartmenj. to* tx*y and save him.. As Joe Brooks, Alr Gborge Hewlett was entrusted with the pa’t of th n defaulting husband', and the gradual UTifnldin" of; his selfish nature was, a splendid piece of aefiiig. Mr. Guv Hastings/ representation as Jimsie Smith, was good, as is all hi« work, and he made his character real and likeable.” The whole o!nv is said to niove along with, ab-i->4 -.e-"e c ti, while in with the thrilling moments are touches of eomorl’- + l --* pe- enliven' even the
