Good average quality crossbred mutton light Good demand for Australian mutton.'’ ' SHEEPSKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, report: We held our usual fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides 1 and tallow on, Friday afternoon, when j we submitted a good average catalogue 1 of all classes to a fair attendance of buyers. Sheepskins—Although dry skins wei’e in demand, prices all round receded about 2d jier lb on late rates. Salties were generally firmer. Hides —Keen competition for all grades. Heavy weights of good substance were up about an -Jd per lb on last sale, medium being firmer, and light weights from par to -|d per lb better. Kin and yearling wete in strong request, and sold well up to late rates. Calfskins showed a slight increase, and for a nice hne of five pounders we secured 153 d. Tallow sold well un to late rates.
