PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MONTHLY MEETING. T'he monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held m the Plunket room on Friday, the I2th December, at 3 p.m. There were present: Mesdames Goodson (chairj,. Campbell, Graves, . Haggett, . Bone, Goring, Hooker;. Godfrey, .Goodwin, Winks, Tait (treasurer), Nurse :Dix and Miss King (secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames Burdekin and Jobson and Air. Gillanders. A letter was received from the Central Council re Miss Pattrick, 'Director of Plunket Nursing, taking a course of training in one of the New Zealand' Government maternity hospitals. • The- Arayor and Mr. Dixon waited on 'the committee •re the Plunket Society haying part of the building which, is to be erected for the Boy Scouts. They described what had already been done and made the isuggestion that tlie Plunket Society should raise £l5O and. they could have a room and the use of the hall as a waiting room lor all time, the promise, being made, that in the event of the Scout movement dying -out the Plunket Society would still be secure. Nurse thought the rooms would b« suitable. The committee were in favour. of the suggestion, subject tq the approval oi the Advisory Board. Mr. Brodie offered to lay the "plans before the Advisovy Board, and they would go into the details of the plan, etc. The Plunket Fete was then dismissed. It was , decided to hold the tete < )n r Wednesday, the 25th February. The secretary is to write and ask permission of the council to hold it in the park, and also to the band asking if it will give a' programme during the afternoon. The various stalls were .arranged for, ancl it was pi o posed that Aliss .kina- .Hooker-should again be asked to act a.s secretary for the Icte. It was proposed to hold a maypole dance, a prize being given for the prettiest dress; -■ also decorated nram'--' with (lowers only and a class for the most novel . decoration and fancy dress. The hoop-la stand at the A. and P. Show resulted in a not. profit of £lO is lid. The nurse's renort- showed : New cases, adults and babies. 69: visits to office, 886; nurse’s visits to homes, o'4. Accounts to the amount of £ll )<.■ 8d wore passed for payment.
