The decorations are to'take the form of greenery, tyut the scheme also provides for special lighting, in the form of seven lines of electric lights across the main street between Princes street and Victoria street, and also for a Father Christmas parade with a distribution of nuts, sweets, etc., to the children. The decorations will be carried out on Monday by a retailers’ working bee, and in order to improve on the effect of the greenery the retailers are also decorating their shop fronts with, flags. The Father Christmas parade will take place on Tuesday, 23rd.

The librarian’s report stated:—l beg to report that six new members joined during the month, the same number leaving, so there are still about 460 on the books, 25 more than in November, 1923. Seventy-eight new books were bought, including 11 of good general literature, chiefly works of travel. The Rev. C. J. Bush King also presented one.
