HAWERA BRANCH. A further general meeting of members of the Hawera branch of the Workers’ ‘Education Association wa* held in the Old Technical School on Friday evening last for the purpose of filially deciding details in connection aitn next year’s class in Hawera. Mr W. Wrightson presided over a good .attendance of members. After some discussion a vote was taken, and it was decided by a good majority to adopt psychology as the subject to be taken by the class next year. All present intimated their intention of becoming members of the class. A proposal was made by the tutor that a study circle might* he formed in economics subsidiary to the main class if sufficient members were interested in continuing the study of that subject. No definite action was taken in the meantime, and it was decided to leave the matter over until the beginning of the session. The meeting decided to adoot Friday evening as the meeting night for the next, session. The class foe to cover local expenses "’as fixed at os for the course. Officers for the ensuing year we-o elected as follows: President. M- W G. Simpson; vice-nvesident. Mr J. L. Carter; secretary-treasurer, Mr AY Eaton ; committee, Messrs ' Barringer! Dr hi, JTowlett and L-arkmon. The arranging of a meeting place and the printing of a syllabus were left to the committee. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
