IN NORTH TARANAKI. Several capital scores were made by teams in the North, two reaching well over-the two hundred mark and one of tne O'id Roys team, Palmer, just failing to reach the century. Kingston showed that he is keeping up his form by scoring 70. The postponed matches-of the sixth 'round of the South Taranaki Association’s senior fixtures .were played on •Saturday, when wins'were, recorded by Excelsior from. Eltham and Manaia from- Midland. In the junior fixtures wins were obtained by Midland B and Hawera Technical A. An unpleasantly strong wind from, the south blew all day, and the fieldsmen did not find much comfort. EXCELSIOR v. ELTHAM

The above match was played on the Hawera ground on a good wicket and was won by the Excelsior team with a margin of 21 runs. Considering the wicket and the strong wind which hampered the fielding side, the scores read a little disappointing. None ofithe batsmen showed any outstanding form, and the bowlers had the best of matters generally. Excelsior scored 111, to which Eltham replied with 90. For Eltham Priest did very well indeed in getting six wickets for 41 runs. Fulton three for 6 and McCarthy three for 32 were the most successful for Excelsior.
