WOMAN TAKES POISON. (by TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUOKLANB, Dec. 15. Fanny Le Roy, aged 36, a married woman residing at Birkenhead, committed suicide this morning bj r drinking . poison. At the inquest it was stated that the deceased had been under treatment for neurasthenia. A verdict of suicide was returned. STEWART ISLAND' LINK. DUNEDIN, Dec. 14. During his present visit to the South Island, Mr. .'Shrimp ton (chief telegraph engineer) repaired the Stewart Island cable, in which a fault had developed. The job was undertaken in -an oyster cutter and the whole operation was 'completed in ten days at a cost of £2OO. Had the cable repairing steamer been brought from Auckland the engineer estimates the cost would have been about £2OOO. FATALITY in street. AUCKLAND, Dee. 14. George Baillie, aged 19, when recovering his hat, which had blown off Ins head at Devonport, was knocked down by a motor-car-and died from the injuries received. TRAMWAY MOTORMAN KILLED.-
: AUCKLAND, Dec .33 William Campbell, trainway motorman, was knocked down by'a motorcar while checking his time at a clock on the road and died in the hospital.
