LONDON WOOL SALES. PRICES HARDENING. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Dec. 13. The wool sales closed quietly, many buyers, especially those from the Continent, having left owing to fog postponements.
Merinos steadily hardened till the last few days, when faulties and inferiors declined .about 5 per cent, above the October rates. All grades of crossbreds met fully sustained competition with hardening prices. Fine grades, which have been in very limited supply, closed 10 per cent, above the October rate. Medium and lower grades showed an. advance of 20 to 25 per cent., and slipes and scoureds were generally from 10 to 15 per cent, higher.
