LONG DISTANCE MESSAGES. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOOIATTOTf—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Dec. 11. Signor Marconi, in the course cf a lecture before the Royal Society or Arts, referring to recent experiments, said complete day transmission at fixed intervals had been carried out between Sydney and Poldhu during twentythree hours out of the twenty-four, although the waves traversed the summer zone and were therefore subject to the effect of varying conditions during December. Successful beam trials had been carried out with Canada, the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Bombay, Karachi and Capetown, and these fully confirmed expectations. Signor Marconi predicted reduced long distance rates compared with telegraphy.
