MUSTERERS AND RROVERS. ! (BVT TELEGRAPH—PBESB ASSOCIATION. BLENHEIM, Ded/10. At a, sitting of the. Arbitration-Court this morning the ■ application .of the local furniture, workers to have the; recent Dominion' award brought, into force in Marlborough was grailted. The industrial‘district of Blusterers, packers and drovers applied for' a new award. Their demands were for 22s 6d a.day and found for musterers (Siindav work at double rates); packers £.4 l(jis a week, ..youths, first year £2, second £2 10s;. the proportion of learners to adult musterers not to be more; than one to four ; £1 7s 6d?£ day and'all expenses. A special provision sought was that ■ there should be iio exemption from ‘ the a ward for dermanent station hands. The abolition of weekly work was also demanded/' * : . The respondents, the Marlborough sheepowriers, filed counter proposals, asking for the re-enactment of the.old award or the adoption for Marlborofigh of the new Canterbury award. It was pointed out that it would be anomalous for two. contiguous industrial districts like Marlborough and Canterbury td be under different conditions and' rates of pay. The court reserved its decision. The court leaves for Wellington to-morrow, en route to Auckland, where the last, sitting of the year will be '.eld.
