PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr. E. N. Gunsaulas, Consul-General for the United States, will shortly retire from the American diplomatic serwhich will necessitate his relinquishing his duties m New Zealand (says a Wellington telegram). His retirement is necessitated in accordance with the regulations regarding the age limit. For 25 years Mr. Gunsaulas has been in the American diplomatic service, and he regrets leaving New Zealand, as he lias made many friends here and the mostl cordial re ations exist between himself, the people, and the Government. Mr. W. Dill Macky was yesterday appointed to the position of assistant instructor in agriculture under the Taranaki Education Board. Mr. Dill Mackv, who will he stationed at Stratford, is at present relieving instructor under the Auckland Education Board. He has had ten veai's’ experience in both Australia and New Zealand, and when at the Hawkesbury Agricultural College in New South "Wales he gained the first, second, and third years’ certificates of competency, the College diploma and the Burdekin silver medal.
