JEWEL BANDITS.

WOMAN KILLED BY ESCAPING CAR, LONDON, Nov. 20. A woman was killed at Birmingham to-day by a motor car in which jewel bandits were escaping. The plan of driving up in a motor car, smashing a jeweller’s window, and making off with a tray of valuables, has recently become common. At Birmingham the occupants of the car seized jewellery valued at £IOOO. Shouts of “Stop thieves!” in the busy streets caused the chauffeur to drive recklessly. He bowled over several pedestrians, and a woman was killed. The car was later found abandoned a mile away.
