METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.
- NORMANBY ANNIVERSARY. The above Sunday School celebrated its anniversary on Sunday afternoon and evening in the Town Hall. The children, who had been trained bv Mill- Ackroyd, of Hawera, rendered special anniversary hymns in excellent style. The Rev. W. J. Oxbrow again proved himself an expert in his “talks” to x the children. The scholars of various classes recited portions of Scripture, and solos were rendered at each service by Miss Hilda Franklyn. On Monday at 6 p.m. the scholars and teachers, numbering 80, were entertained at tea by the parents, after w-hich the concluding meeting of the series was held. The Rev. W. J. Oxbrow occupied the chair, and spoke in eulogistic terms of the faithful w r ork of th© Sunday School teachers and Mr Rowe (superintendent). Mrs L. J. Williams was called unon to Present

It is worthy of note that several children have scored 100 per cent of marks for three and four years in succession. The Sunday School secretary (Miss Payne) presented a report and balancesheet, which show-ed the school to bo in excellent working order. Mention was made of the loss of th© school . building by fire, and the hope was expressed that before long it may he possible to see signs of a new schoolroom. Votes of thanks were accorded the conductor (Mr Ackroyd), the organist (Mrs Franklyn) and all who had assisted in making this anniversary the best yet. Proceedings terminated by the pror nouncing of the Benediction.
