In the High Court the Orient Steamship Company, the Commonwealth Line, and others applied for an injunction to restrain the Waterside Workers’ Federation from committing alleged breaches of the award and attempting anything in the nature of a strike. After the hearing of argument the case Was adjourned till Monday next. STRIKE NOT ABANDONED. MELBOURNE, Dec. 8. -The Waterside Workers’ Federation’s suspension of the Port Phillip stevedores and the Melbourne Wharf Labourers’ Union has been lifted, but so far no move has been made in the direction of calling the strike off, though no further steamers have been declared black.
