TENNIS CLUB. In order to assist in the formation of courts, the newly-foamed TenmnClub organised a fancy -fair,, which took place in the HaJl on Friday evening last. Desjhte the inclement weather, the a tendance was large. The various stalls were quickly bared of valuables, and in consequence the Hall was prepared for dancing at an. airly hour. - Tlie following persons were in charge of staJls, etc. Sewing, Mrs Lind and Miss Street; cakes and vegetables/ Mrs Cassidy; sweets, ‘Miss Gray den; ice cream, Mesdames Wilkinson, 1 Davison, and Miss Gilshnaii; bran tub,' jVlesr uabiGs Gilslmaiv, Harding and Master D. land; supper, Mesdames Bourke, Spooner and Miss Street-: darts, Messrs Lind and Hartley. ■ A short musical programme was rendered '\vliilst the fair' was in progress, and the- following contributed items Mrs J. Mitchell, song; Mr Lonsdale, song; Mrs and Miss Street, pianoforte duet; Misses Parkinson, duet. All the items 'were well received. The dance music was supplied by' Miss Street, Mrs Spooner (piano), Mr Jeffries (accordeon), whilst extras were played by Mr Frank Tindle (piano). Great praise is due to the secretary and officials who organised the evening’s entertainment to the satisfaction of alt. ..The takings ainounted to £l7 11s, and after, provisions for expenses are made, the balance should materially help the 'club through its initial stages.
