SPORTS FOR OUR BOYS.
(To the Editor.) Sir,- —I feel sure lam voicing the opipion of a large number of the readers of your journal in expressing appreciation of your remarks''in reference to the Dixon, Banner competitions, to be held next Wednesday. W e continually hear townsriieri asking’why the people do not arrange for such sports. Yery often these people ■ are absent from such gatherings. At the last High School sports ‘in. Hawera the hoys put' up a very creditable performance. This was worthy of a larger patronage. R is well to remember that' many of the' competitors were hoys’ who dad well in’ the Dixon Banner competitions while tliev attended the pfiriaary schools. "The town and country are indebted to the energetic secretary and committee for the interest they are taking. The very least the public can do is show their appreciation' by their attendance on Wednesday. A good gate will provide the money required to encourage the competitions and relieve the committee of financial Worry. Thanking you for what you have done in the interest of the rising generation.—l am, etc., TRUE SPORT.
