PARTY CAUCUS. LEADERSHIP DISPUTED. BY CABLE PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Dec. 3. liie Labour Parliamentary Party reelected Mr Ramsay MacDonald as chan man, Mr J. R. Clynes as vicechairman, and Mr B. C. Spoor as chief whip.
.J 11 ® .Daily Herald states that over IdO Labour members of the House of Commons attended the meeting. Mr J - M ax t° n severely criticised some aspects of the Labour Government’s record, and proposed the election of Mr George Lonsbury to the leadership. Mr Lansbury declined nomination, declaring that a change of leadership was inopportune.
One membor suggested that the election or a leader be postponed till adequato inquiries had been made regarding the Zinovieff letter. Mr Arthur Henderson intimated that the inquiry would be pursued. Mr MacDonald was then re-elected, there being five dissentient voices. w
Messrs G. Lansbury, R. Smillie, P. Snowden. J. H. Thomas, J. Wheatley, J. Maxton, C. P. Trevelyan, D. M. Graham, J. C. Wedgwood," Arthur Henaerson and I*’. O. Roberts were elected an executive committee.
