ALLEGED SLANDER.
JMBBTT INSPECTOR’S CLAIM (Bt TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. OAMARU, Dee. 3. At the Magistrate’s Court this morning Mr. R,. Findlay, a rabbit inspector, claimed £2OO damages from William Bell for alleged slander, the words complained of being: “You stuffed the Waitangi isokliens’ run- with cattle for your own pocket, and everybody knows it,” allegedly uttered outside'the Duntioon. Hotel on July 16. The defence was. that these were not the identical words used, and, further, K»ch a statement would not injure plaintiff’s occupation. The magistrate awarded £25 damages.
