TO RETIRE

In ail interview with a pressman Viscount Jellicoe declined to comment on matters of national' import. He said that for a few months at least his lips were sealed. He had had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in New Zealand and hoped to visit the Dominion again soon. He had not taken an option over any land with a view to permanent settlement, and he did not believe in absentee landlords. Tbe Governor’s duties were very wearying. Viscount Jellicoe says he was feeling the effects or tlie strain, and his doctors ordered him to take a complete rest.' His plans for the future were vague. He would probably retire into private life on his return to England. Viscount Jellicoe stays at Sutton Forest till the end of next week, when he proceeds to Melbourne
