BOWLING.
PARK CLUB. Just after play commenced on Saturday afternoon rain set in, and a “call off” for an hour was necessitated. Many bowlers left tlie green, but a few resumed play. In a buttons match the holders (Sayers, Familton, Black and Lmkhorn) were defeated by A. Grant, Dahl, Goodwin and Mills by 31 to 17 points. \Y averley will be visiting Hawera on Saturday next, playing Hawera Club m the morning and Park in the afternoon. .
HAWERA CLUB COMPETITION. c The A Buttons match was played on Saturday afternoon. A good game ensued for about three parts of the contest, but in the final stages the holders were not to be denied their supremacy, which makes their record sixteen •consecutive wins. Some very’ good heads were witnessed, but the combination and play of the holders 'was hard to beat, although the challengers put some good “work” into their play. The challenging rink was made up by Wills, •McDonald. Robertson, Corkill 14; holders : Maslin, Poole, Adamson, Hulbert, 32.
On Wednesday next Hawera. A team meet Patea. in a Banner match on the local green.
