(by telegraph—Press association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 29. Particular interest was taken irt the first Christchurch wool sale of the season, which was held to-day. The catalogue was double the size of last season's opening catalogue, the total number of bales offered being 11,400. Bidding was keen from the outset, and North Island prices were exceeded twice. The record price for half-bred of 40d was paid, the buyer being a Bradford firm. Three-quarterbred fleece wool made up to 30;]d, crossbred tip to 28d, halfbred pieces up to 30£d. Over 90 buyers were present, and very often the bid rose by a penny and twopence instead of the usual farthing.
