SWIMMING.
DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP. ChY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. ' CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 29. At the annual meeting of the council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, Mr W. E. D. Bishop .(Christchurch) was elected president. The programme for the Dominion championships as submitted by the Canterbury centre was appnoved. This sort of weather is the time when everyone would like to be in the sea or the river or the baths every day. Vqry great enthusiasm is shown at the baths, and down at th e beach every week-end are to be seen joyous carefree crowds enjoying a jolly dip, and it is a great asset to the district.’ At a recent 89 meeting of the Timaru Swimming Club, the committee congratulated Mr. R. F. Stewart, one of its members, in having been included in the A.ll Black team. NOT LIKELY! Mrs. Newife (as husband prepares for swim): “Don’t go farther than the horizon, darling, will you!”
