STRATFORD SHOW.

PEOPLE’S DAY. INTERESTED CROWDS. All' roads seemed to lead to Stratford yesterday, and from all points of the compass crowds flocked to the show grounds in cars and traps of all kinds. The committee were very fortunate in the weather, the rain of the early morning serving to temper the heat of a perfect day. The stand and every point of vantage round the ring were densely packed by an interested and amused crowd of . spectators. The grand parade aVid the competitions on the one hand and the buck-jumping on the other served to keep the attention of all throughout the afternoon. All arrangements were well . made and carried through by the secretary, the president and the energetic stewards. The results of their efforts were much appreciated. To them all the press representatives owe a great deal for uniform courtesy and consideration. The .official opening was performed by Mr R. Masters," M.P., who complimented all concerned on the great success achieved, and referred appreciatively to the fine work of the president (Mr L. T. Aylward), the secretary (Mr A. J. Barr), and the executive committees and stewards. In conclusion, Mr Masters thanked all who had assisted in the successful holding of the show, and especially -the judges, who had come from various parts of New Zealand to undertake a task which was by no means easy. To these gentlemen the association was under a debt of gratitude. He also congratulated the district unon their very- fine show. THE COMPETITIONS. A fine sight was witnessed by the spectators in the parade of the good entry of .stock. It formed a feature of the show. BAND SELECTIONS. During the afternoon a capital series of instrumental items was given by the Stratford Band, and was much appreciated by all. THE LUNCHEON ROOMS; .Special commendation must be given tfie large body of ladies who manage this very necessary part of the show.
