CARS COLLIDE.
NO SERIOUS INJURY.' The necessity for the constant use by drivers of vehicles of the utmost vigilance aiul care, especially when approaching cross roads, was again forcibly illustrated when shortly after five o’clock last evening two motor cars came into violent collision at the intersection of the Palmer and Eltham road, near Kaponga. One of the cars, driven by Mr A. J. Herbert, of Kaponga, was proceeding along to Palmer road, and the other, driven by Mr H. Norgate, also of Kaponga, was travelling w&st along the Elthani road. Both cars contained passengers, but, though a lady in Mr Herbert’s ear was cut on the hands by glass flying from the shattered windscreen, no. ong sustained serious injury. In this tlie five occupants of Mr Herbert’s car may be credited with an exceedingly fortunate escape, as the force of the impact toppled the ear, which, smashing into the low bank bordering the road, came to rest on its side with two wheels in the air. Mr Herbert’s car received minor damages* including two burst tyres, a broken hood aiiil windscreen, and a buckled running board. Mr Norgate’s cat escaped without apparent damage. ■“t 1 ? . Marr, whose residence is in the vicßiny °f the scene of the accident, attended, to the injured lady and provided appreciated refreshment for the occupants of the car.
